HOW EACH SESSION WORKS

~45 minutes. Every stat counts.

Each session follows this structure. Predictable, scalable, and easy to show up for.

01

Warmup

~5 min. Brain teaser warmup, quick hello, review the standings. Friendly chatter while everyone gets settled. Gimkit code goes live.

02

Competition

~30 min. Three 10-minute rounds with short breaks between each, or one 30-minute extended game. Format rotates weekly. All stats count toward season standings.

03

Wrap-Up

~5 min. Live leaderboard update. See where you stand. Shoutouts, highlights, GG.

Each session follows this structure (~45 minutes total). Some weeks feature three fast rounds. Other weeks feature one longer strategic game. Either way, every stat counts.

DIVISIONS

FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need to be good at math?

  • You need the basics, but this is about practice and improvement, not perfection.
  • Your accuracy goes up as you play. The spiral review format means you'll see the same concepts multiple times across sessions.
  • Students in honors or advanced tracks get the most out of it, but any motivated learner who wants to compete is welcome.

What grades can join?

  • Grades 3 to 10. Three tracks: Elementary (3-4), Middle School (5-8), and High School (9-10).
  • Each competes separately with its own leaderboard and prize pool.

What is Gimkit?

  • A fast-paced online game platform where students answer math questions while competing in modes like Capture the Flag, Don't Look Down, and 1v1 battles.
  • Think gaming meets math mastery.

Can I join from anywhere?

  • Yes. Every session is fully virtual via Zoom + Gimkit.
  • If you're in the Princeton/Plainsboro NJ area, we also host weekly in-person meetups at the public library.

What if I miss a session?

  • Your stats only count when you play. No retroactive points.
  • In some cases we can move you to an alternate session that week. Reach out and we'll do our best.

How is the winner determined?

  • We track three stats: correct answers, accuracy, and game placement. Each is ranked across all players in your division.
  • Your final standing is the composite average of those three ranks. Lowest composite wins.
  • Season leaders in individual categories also earn bonus prizes.

What does a typical season look like?

  • 6 weeks of regular-season matches (one per week), then 2 weeks of playoffs.
  • Top 4 players compete for the championship. Non-playoff players keep playing for individual stats and pride.

Is there a refund policy?

  • Full refund if you withdraw before the first session.
  • After the season starts, no refunds. You can transfer your spot to another student.

What equipment do I need?

  • A computer or tablet with internet access, a web browser (for Gimkit), and Zoom. That's it. No special software or downloads.

Ready to compete?

One session per week. 45 minutes. Real math, real competition, real prizes.
